Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge # 175

I have the habit of making A4 cards all the time.  When I saw this weeks Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge I thought to myself, this calls for a 5 x 7 card.

Every blog I read lately has stitched die cuts.  I of course was not immune to this and had to buy some die cuts so I could be part of the in crowd.  I bought some  My Favorite Things dies from Simon Says Stamps, and honestly have used them almost every time I make a card lately!

I made the card using the Florence Paper Packet and coordinating solid papers Ruby & Saffron.   The sentiment is included in the Cricut® Flower Market Collection.  I used it because at my last card gathering, it was hands down everyone's favorite sentiment collection.  I have an entire organizer filled with sentiment choices, and when I looked around, almost everyone had chosen stamps from this set.

The circle accent is from the Ornate Blossoms stamp set.  It is currently in the Going Soon portion of the Close to my Heart website.  If you love to color, I would rush out and get this one now.  I have so much fun embossing and coloring these with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I hope you enjoyed this week's challenge  card.  Head on over to the web site and enter your own creation.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #173

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this card.

What I love about the Altantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is how it inspires me to create.  We can all become burried under all the fantastic cards we see on Pinterest.  Many we just pin, some we recreate, others we just sigh and think I could never do that.  The sketch challenge makes me step away from others ideas, look through my stash and create.

I had no idea what to do when I saw this sketch.

Then I walked past my "Together Teacher" binder and saw the scrap of paper I had stuffed into the cover to remind me to decorate the binder with my personal touch.  I had recently taught a class at The Sweet Spot, and the owner had shown me what she had created since our last class.  She had used the C1619 So Many Smiles Occasions stamp set to make tags for the jewelery she was selling.
When I got home, I used the same colors (Gypsy & Cotton Candy) on a scrap.

I decided to use this "scrap" as my background pattern paper.  I cut the banners from the Artiste Cartridge (#M46A23) and the 2.75 circle from Art Philosophy ( #M458E2).  The sentiment and the pattern on the .75 banner were from the D1530 Cricut Artiste Collection Kudos Cricut Collection. Both cartridges have been retired and are no longer available.

I cut the Scallop Twist Circle (#MD71E91) from the Flower Market Cartridge and embossed it with Echo Park Embossing Folders, Random Dots.

I hope you like this card as much as I do.  If you already have the cartridges you can use this file to create your own version.  Enjoy!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #171

Welcome to this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

For this week's sketch, I wanted to use the large Hibiscus flower from the  Close to My Heart stamp set Hawaiian Hibiscus Occasion stamp set.  The flower is perfect for using watercolors and I have been using it to teach myself how to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  I enjoy them so much and have found blending  much easier then alcohol markers.  Once I stamped and colored the image, I cut it on my Brother Scan and cut.  I have fussy cut the previous images and the Scan n Cut made it much easier.

The green background paper is one from the new Adventure Fundamentals in the NEW 2016-2017 Annual Inspirations Idea Book.  I used the Cricut to cut the scallop ( #M4047F) and pennant ( #M41727) , both images are from the CTMH Art Philosopy cartridge.

I am so excited to be part of the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Design Team, I hope you enjoy my work and I look forward to  growing  as an artist.  Stop by the Atlantic Hearts blog and use the sketch to play along.

Thank you for visiting.
