Ahh the life of a teacher!
You would think the month of December would be easy, no state testing, no report cards... But no! I guess there is no easy time, or for that matter, no easy job. I am sure yours is just as crazy! Luckily we love to create!
The best part about the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, is I have someplace to start. I look at the sketch, and think how can I use all the creative ideas in my head and put them together in that way?
As I stated in my last blog I have been watching some Jennifer McGuire videos and wanted to try out the white on white die cut card. Before I figured out how to make my own card front I searched Design Space for a similar card front to what was in my mind (small circles). I found the front I wanted to use in Close To My Heart's Artfully Sent Cartridge. I can't encourage you enough to buy this cartridge. It is no longer being sold in the book, but there are still some left to purchase. You can make cards easily with just two papers and the handbook, or get fancy (You can see the handbook with all the codes at this website).
I chose the Circles Card #M101124 image sized it to 5.5 x 8.5 and added a square behind it sized to 5.5 x 4.25. Next I needed to add the squares and the flags/banner. The squares are just shapes in Design Space and the banner is Banner #MFB1FF from the cartridge Bits and Pieces. I used White Daisy and Pomegranate cardstock for both.
Than I put it all together and used stamps from the Stamp of the month club (Adore You) and black and Pomegranate ink.
I hope you enjoy the way it turned out. I love playing with sketches and inspiration from all the YouTube and Pinterest I visit.
