Atlantic Hearts Challenge # 199

Well... in the rush to make sure I was keeping up with my obligations, I made my card after church on Sunday.  The always correct weatherperson on TV and my phone kept reminding me of the impending snow storm... it was scheduled to arrive by 4 pm... I knew I should get down to my son's house (across the street from my job/school) so I created the card for sketch #201, the one I had written in my planner, the one I was sure I needed to complete. And then, once safe and sound at my son's I started to write my blog, oh wait, the last blog was #197... gosh darn it!  I made the wrong one!  And no craft room!

The storm never arrived, but I stayed an extra night to sort out the 150 books that have made it onto the pre final list for the Charlotte Award (I am chairperson for the 2018 committee).  Have no fear, however, I made it home in time to create a new card and post it here!

I am honestly glad I messed up.  This card came to me lickity split! I looked through my catalog for a little inspiration.  I LOVE the Dreamin' Big paper, and have been trying to figure out when to use it.  Once I saw the Dreamin' Big Cardmaking Seasons & Nature Stamp Set in my collection I was inspired.

The background paper is Juniper and cut at 4.25 x 5.5.  I did some math and decided the tall portion should be 2 in x 5 in.  For this I used Saffron and stamped tone on tone with Saffron ink.

To make up the other side of the card I cut the Dreamin' Big paper bug side up 1.5 in x 3 in.   An awesome feature of the Close To My Heart Paper is the zip strip at the top tells you the colors to use!  I chose to use Slate for the smallest section of the card ( 1.5 in x 1.75 in).  I stamped and embossed the sentiment fro the same stamp set.

The final color paper I used on the card was Glacier.  Using my favorite flag die set, I cut one of the smallest dies and embossed the "because your so kind" sentiment from the same stamp set.

I hope my card inspired you and my directions are easy enough to follow.

Create your own card using the Atlantic Hearts Challenge # 199 template to create your own awesome work of art!

Dream big & have fun creating!
